Redsn0w 0.9.7B6
Jailbreak IOS 4.2.1 and Below
This update is for users who have access to 4.2B3 SHSH Blobs. JAILBREAK WILL BE UNTETHERED.
(Untethered means you wont have to plug the device up to the computer if it shuts off)
Please remember this is BETA and gets updated as often as possible.
THIS BETA IS ONLY FOR MAC USERS

"The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype (and as expected all along, the Skype issue turns out to be unrelated to sandbox patches). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW using these links (the links won’t work unless you’re a legit developer currently logged in).

Unlike the last few betas, you can freely run beta6 over beta5 without a problem (but for testing purposes, we’d really like people to try both ways….from stock, and from already jailbroken). If all you want to do is fix Skype and you’re already untethered using beta5, just run beta6 and deselect every checkbox.

Now that the sandbox, Bluetooth, and Skype issues are fixed, our next priority is porting Monte back to 4.1. We’ll also try to make the Windows version less painfully slow."

Tethered Jailbreak
(Tethered means if it shuts off then you need to plug it up to the computer and boot tethered on Redsn0w)

Two versions of Redsn0w are being developed right now for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. Redsn0w 0.9.6 builds can jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 (tethered only) on all devices whereas Redsn0w 0.9.7 builds bring untethered jailbreak support for iOS 4.2.1 on newer devices only i.e., iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and iPad.

The necessary requirement for untethered jailbreak is that you have SHSH blobs for iOS 4.2 b3 saved on Cydia servers. So, if you didn’t save SHSH blobs or you have got one of old devices like iPhone 3G(S), iPod Touch 3G, you can use Redsn0w 0.9.6 rc7 to jailbreak the device and perform one-click tethered boot.
