iPhone 5 Purple Camera Haze is Normal?

Today we had received some interesting news that Apple believes that the unknown, obnoxious purple color that appears on your photos while using the iPhone 5 is normal. As you can see in the photos above that it appears that this mysterious purple haze only occurs in settings with a large light source. What kind of makes me laugh is that millions of customers are complaining about this and Apple basically says Yeah its fine. Its normal. Nothing wrong here.

Here is a customer that had took it upon himself to contact Apple Support:

Dear Matt,

Our engineering team just gave me this information and we recommend that you angle the camera away from the bright light source when taking pictures. The purple flare in the image provided is considered normal behavior for iPhone 5's camera.
